Ubuntu LTS is our default. GNOME, an app store, Firefox, LibreOffice — a computer that looks like a computer. We source a current Lenovo, Dell, HP, Acer, or Asus, install Ubuntu, test every radio, and ship it UPS Ground in 3–5 business days. Manufacturer warranty stays on the machine.
What is Ubuntu on a laptop from us?
Ubuntu is Canonical’s distribution — the one most people mean when they say “just put Linux on it.” Long-term support releases get five years of updates. The Software app looks like a phone store. apt is there when you want a terminal. It is what Stack Overflow, university labs, and most how-to videos assume you are running.
That is why it is our default. Not because it is the only serious distro. Because it is the one a new Linux user can open, and the one a developer already has muscle memory for.
We do not ship a Canonical image locked to this shop. We install current Ubuntu LTS (or Ubuntu Latest if you choose it), load the desktop you pick, and make the silicon honest: Wi-Fi, GPU, webcam, Bluetooth, audio, touchscreen. If a radio fails, it does not ship.

How we install it
On the product page, set Linux Distribution to Ubuntu LTS (recommended). That is also the default if you leave it. Ubuntu Latest is the current non-LTS release if you want newer packages and a shorter support window.
Desktop defaults to GNOME. Kubuntu, Xubuntu, and Lubuntu are listed separately if you want those flavors instead of Ubuntu-plus-a-different-DE.
Dual-boot is an add-on: we partition the drive and the BIOS boot menu asks which OS to load. Ubuntu on one side, Windows or a second distro on the other.
Pick a laptop on the shop. Set Linux Distribution to Ubuntu LTS (recommended). Desktop defaults to GNOME if you want the usual setup for this distro. A Linux engineer installs, configures, and tests the machine. It ships UPS Ground, typically 3–5 business days, tracking emailed before it leaves.

Do you install Ubuntu LTS or the latest Ubuntu?
Ubuntu LTS is the default and the one we recommend. Ubuntu Latest is available on the product page if you want the current short-term release.
What desktop does an Ubuntu laptop ship with?
GNOME, unless you pick another desktop on the product page. Kubuntu, Xubuntu, and Lubuntu are separate distribution options.
Will Wi-Fi work on an Ubuntu laptop from you?
Yes. Every machine is tested for Wi-Fi, GPU, audio, webcam, Bluetooth, and touchscreen before it ships. If it fails, it does not ship.
Do you build these Ubuntu laptops?
No. We source new Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Asus machines, install Ubuntu, and test them. You keep the manufacturer hardware warranty.
Can I dual-boot Ubuntu with Windows?
Yes. Dual-boot is an optional add-on on every laptop. We partition the drive; the BIOS boot menu asks which OS to load each time it starts.
