Gentoo is the source-based distribution: Portage, USE flags, a world file you own. People in this community already argue about compile flags. They should not have to argue about a Broadcom card.
We install a working Gentoo with a desktop and a toolchain you can keep using. We do not sell a three-day compile as the product. You get a machine that already suspends and associates with Wi-Fi. Then Portage is yours.
This is still a Linux Laptop Company machine: Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, or Asus. Radios tested. Hinge goes to the manufacturer. 3–5 day UPS Ground, tracking emailed before it leaves.

How we install it
On the product page, set Linux Distribution to Gentoo. KDE Plasma is the usual desktop; GNOME and others are listed. We install a working Gentoo at configuration time.
If you have a specific profile, USE set, or window manager we do not list, call 877-547-3638 — if we can install it and stand behind the radios, we will.
Same dual-boot add-on as every other distro: partition the drive, BIOS boot menu.
Pick a laptop on the shop. Set Linux Distribution to Gentoo. Desktop defaults to KDE Plasma if you want the usual setup for this distro. A Linux engineer installs, configures, and tests the machine. It ships UPS Ground, typically 3–5 business days, tracking emailed before it leaves.

Do you compile the whole system from source before it ships?
We install a working Gentoo with Portage and a desktop. You get a booting laptop, not a half-compiled stage. Keep using Portage after it arrives.
What desktop does a Gentoo laptop ship with?
KDE Plasma unless you pick another desktop on the product page. GNOME, Xfce, and the rest of our list are there.
Will Wi-Fi work on Gentoo from you?
We test Wi-Fi, GPU, audio, webcam, Bluetooth, and touchscreen before the box leaves. If a radio fails, it does not ship.
Do you build these Gentoo laptops?
No. We source new name-brand machines, install Gentoo, and test them. You keep the manufacturer hardware warranty.
Is Gentoo a good daily-driver laptop OS?
If you already want Gentoo, yes — on hardware we have already made honest. If you want a kinder default, pick Ubuntu LTS or Fedora.
