If you wanted a computer, not a product that reports on you, Linux is the ordinary answer — and most people were never told it ships on a Lenovo, Dell, HP, Acer, or Asus. We install it, test every radio, and you keep the manufacturer warranty. USA. You do not need to compile anything. You need a machine that opens, connects, and stays out of the way.
Privacy is not a theme. It is the default.
Windows 11 can still run a spreadsheet. It also spends your CPU, disk, and attention on Microsoft’s other products: ads in the Start menu, a Microsoft account standing between you and the desktop, Copilot, Recall. Turning that off is a weekend of settings and a hope that the next update does not turn them back on.
Linux does not start from that business model. A local user. An app store of signed packages. Updates on your calendar. Nothing phones home unless you install it. That is true if you have been careful about telemetry for years, and it is true if you just searched “laptop without Copilot” because the new Windows felt like a store.
You do not have to become a privacy researcher to want that. Lawyers, journalists, clinics, freelancers with client files, anyone who would rather their drafts not train someone else’s model — a normal desktop is enough, if the OS is not the leak.

A local login. Signed packages. A person on the phone instead of a telemetry dashboard. Same name-brand chassis the rest of the country already knows how to fix.
It still has to be a computer
Firefox. Chromium if you want it. LibreOffice for the .docx. Zoom. Printers. A browser full of the same websites you already use. Ubuntu LTS is the default we recommend. Linux Mint if you want a start-menu-shaped desktop. Fedora if you already live on current GNOME. We put it on the machine and make Wi-Fi, GPU, webcam, Bluetooth, audio, and touchscreen behave.
A privacy OS on a white-box chassis you cannot get serviced is a different kind of lock-in. We source current name-brand notebooks. Manufacturer hardware warranty stays on the laptop. A local shop can open it. That is as much a privacy choice as the software: you are not shipping a mystery hinge overseas to a vendor who wrote the firmware.

Linux is not magic. It is not “unhackable.” Keep it updated, use a unique password, and do not run random scripts from strangers. That is most of it. What we will claim is the part we do: the OS you asked for, on hardware that already works, with a person on the phone instead of a telemetry dashboard.

- A Linux engineer installs, configures, and tests every radio in the USA.
- UPS Ground, typically 3–5 business days. Ready to open. Local account. Manufacturer warranty intact.

Does a Linux laptop from you require a Microsoft account?
No. A local user. No cloud account required to use the machine.
Is Copilot or Recall on the desktop?
No. Those are Microsoft features. They are not part of Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, or the other distributions we install.
I have never used Linux. Is this still for me?
Yes. Ubuntu and Linux Mint are the kind defaults. We install them. We test Wi-Fi. A human answers the phone.
Can I keep Windows for one program?
Dual-boot is an add-on. We partition the drive. The BIOS boot menu asks which OS to load. Linux does not have to be the whole computer on day one.
Do you build these laptops?
No. We source new Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Asus machines, install Linux, and test them. You keep the manufacturer warranty.
