Review of Custom Dell Inspiron Laptop Conversion - Mike
It stopped functioning normally a year or so ago.
I think it's been hacked and bugged.......but by who or what?
Would you like me to send it to you to perform
a forensic investigation?
I still use it.
The update notice has said 'unable to download' then when I click 'OK' updates become available to 'install'.
Firefox browser and Yahoo Mail act 'possessed'!Hope all is well with you,Eric.

Holding On
I had to reinstall the Linux OS myself one time and it seems after the only update that it allowed, it lost all its graphic elements and I only see some text now to select things like Mozilla Browser. I can use the browser and I see all the things on the Internet but other parts of the storage or off line items, no. I can no longer view my files that were on there but I am sure they are still there. I believe an new fresh install is require but I just haven't had the time to download the latest version of linux and go over the steps from a good how to You Tube video as I have done in the past. I did not get any help for you all on that. The monitor section of the laptop broke at the right side hinge and now the disc player does not work. It deformed somewhat and cracked the body where the hinge sits. But the operation of the computer continues. Mixed feelings about it. It cost a lot and there was no need to pay that much. The processor is far too slow at less that 2.0 GHz. I think it is actually only 1.5 Ghz. It was not enough for a job I was doing for work from home and I had to buy a new lenovo with a faster processor to keep that job at the time.
But it works basically. just doesn't do normal things as it should like looking at my files and seeing other graphics. Whatever. I won't buy another one from you all. Thanks.

Love my new Linux Laptop!
This is my first Linux experience and I've had my Lenovo Linux laptop for about 4 months now. And I love it so far. The highlights of my purchase are having a customized laptop, privacy, privacy and privacy! I'm grateful for the Linux Laptop Co. for their products and service. I highly recommend them!

Very Happy with Purchase! Great Product!
I am enormously happy with my Linux computer. It took me a long time to get going on it because I was stressing over potential issues. However, my fears were unjustified. A superb job was done setting it up before being sent to me. I use it daily for shopping, browsing and paying bills. It is much faster than my Microsoft products are. I have it on a small table next to my recliner in the living room. The 17 inch screen is great for watching online movies and reading online books. To my ears the sound quality is excellent.

New Asus laptop with Linux (Debian - Trixie)
It took a long time to get it working, mostly the MediaTek MT7921; WiFi + Bluetooth chip and associated software/firmware. The next problem, again software, is and continues to be, with Debian (trixie). I have another laptop loaded with an older version of Debian and it is far superior.
The last time I bought from Linux Laptop, I remember them asking if I wanted certain applications installed. That would have been great, but this time, there was no option.
Overall, I was treated well. I would buy from them again.Review of Dell Inspiron 15.6" AMD Athlon 3050U 4GB RAM & 128GB SSD
Good for seeing what the linux (ubuntu) world is like
Step one: Ordered Dell Inspiron with Ubuntu installed
Step Two: plugged it in and turned it on
Step Three: No problems getting started
This computer is handy to have for casual web surfing and miscellaneous tasks while my main computer is tied up and configured with more elaborate projects. Perhaps I should have gone one or two offerings higher in the price range, but I'm happy with what I got and have already referred a couple of friends to your site.

Retired
Running Ubuntu, it was really slow. The power saver was the problem.
It occasionally dies. Evidently Dell laptops have a problem with static electricity.
