The Linux Laptop Company
Stable. Universal. The one everything else is built on.
Debian is the universal operating system — the base under Ubuntu, Mint, Kali, and a lot of the servers you already use. We install current Debian stable on a Lenovo, Dell, HP, Acer, or Asus, test every radio, and ship UPS Ground in 3–5 business days. Manufacturer warranty stays on the machine.
What is Debian on a laptop from us?
Debian is a community distribution with a constitution, a freeze, and a reputation for not breaking your week. Stable is the edition people put on a laptop they intend to keep. Testing and Sid are not what we ship unless you ask.
A lot of the distros on this site start here. Ubuntu is Debian plus Canonical. Mint is Ubuntu plus Cinnamon. Kali is Debian Testing plus a security package set. If you want the thing underneath, pick Debian.
We install current Debian stable, load the desktop you pick, and confirm the wireless card associates with a normal home router. Then a person in the USA is the phone number, not a mailing list.
Who this is for
- People who want Debian, not Ubuntu-with-Debian-packages
- Developers and admins who already live on apt and want a Lenovo or Dell, not a mystery chassis
- Anyone who prefers a conservative freeze to a six-month cadence
- Offices that need a local account, Firefox, LibreOffice, and no Microsoft account
How we install it
On the product page, set Linux Distribution to Debian. Desktop defaults to GNOME. KDE Plasma, Xfce, MATE, Cinnamon, and the rest of our list are there.
We install current Debian stable at configuration time. Non-free firmware is included so Wi-Fi and the GPU have a chance — then we test them.
Same 3–5 day UPS Ground, tracking emailed before it leaves. Same engineer on the phone: 877-547-3638.
Pick a laptop on the shop. Set Linux Distribution to Debian. Desktop defaults to GNOME if you want the usual setup for this distro. A Linux engineer installs, configures, and tests the machine. It ships UPS Ground, typically 3–5 business days, tracking emailed before it leaves.
Other distros we install
Ubuntu LTS is the shop default. These pages cover the distros people pick on the product page. Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, MX Linux, Solus, Nobara, and LMDE are still available on the product page.

Debian laptop FAQs
Do you install Debian Stable or Testing?
Debian stable, current release at install time. Testing or Sid only if you ask. Pick Debian on the product page.
Is this Ubuntu without the branding?
No. We install Debian. Ubuntu LTS is a separate option and the shop default. Mint, Kali, and others that are Debian-based are listed on their own pages.
Will Wi-Fi and the GPU work on Debian?
We include the firmware the hardware needs and test Wi-Fi, GPU, audio, webcam, Bluetooth, and touchscreen before the laptop ships. If it fails, it does not leave.
Do you build these Debian laptops?
No. We source new Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Asus machines, install Debian, and test them. You keep the manufacturer hardware warranty.
Can I dual-boot Debian with Windows?
Yes. Dual-boot is an optional add-on on every laptop. We partition the drive; the BIOS boot menu asks which OS to load each time it starts.
