What is Linux Mint on a laptop from us?

Mint sits on Ubuntu LTS under the hood, which is why printer docs, Wi-Fi chipsets, and "how do I install X" answers tend to match what you find online. On top, Cinnamon is the desktop most people mean when they say Mint: a menu in the corner, a panel, windows that behave. No Microsoft account gate. No Copilot. No ads in the start menu. Updates land on your schedule, not a vendor’s upsell calendar.
If you are leaving Windows 10 or skipping Windows 11, Mint is the kindest first step we offer. You do not need to learn a dock on day one. You need Firefox, LibreOffice, a local login, and a machine that associates with a normal home router. That is the job.
GNOME, Xfce, and MATE are available if you want them. LMDE (Mint’s Debian edition) is a separate option on the product page for people who specifically want Debian under Mint’s skin. Regular Linux Mint with Cinnamon is what most buyers should leave selected.

4. If a radio fails, the box does not leave. If it passes, it ships UPS Ground, USA only, in 5 business days, with tracking emailed before it leaves.
Need one Windows app for a while? Dual Boot is an optional add-on: Mint on one partition, Windows on the other, BIOS boot menu at power-on. They do not overwrite each other. (Windows is only offered as that Dual Boot add-on — not as a standalone variant label.)

Is Linux Mint the default OS on your laptops?
No. Ubuntu LTS with GNOME is the shop default. Linux Mint is on every product page — select it at checkout and we install current Mint, usually with Cinnamon.
Does Mint feel like Windows?
Cinnamon is the closest widely used Linux desktop to a classic Windows layout: menu, panel, windows. It is still Linux. It will not ask for a Microsoft account to finish setup.
Will .docx files and Wi-Fi work on a Mint laptop from you?
LibreOffice opens the documents from school and most offices. We test Wi-Fi, audio, webcam, Bluetooth, and touchscreen on the installed Mint system before the box leaves. If a radio fails, it does not ship.
How fast do Mint laptops ship?
UPS Ground, USA only, in 5 business days from our East Coast shop, with tracking emailed before the box leaves. Some SKUs show a specific Ships by date on the product page when hardware is still inbound.
Do you build these Mint laptops in a factory?

What is LMDE, and do I need it?
LMDE is Mint’s Debian-based edition. It is a separate option on the product page. Most people want regular Linux Mint (Ubuntu-based) with Cinnamon.
