NixOS is the Linux you describe in a config: rollbacks, reproducible packages, nix. We install it on a current Lenovo, Dell, HP, Acer, or Asus, make Wi-Fi and the GPU behave, and ship UPS Ground in 3–5 business days. You keep the manufacturer warranty. Then you own the config.
What is NixOS on a laptop from us?
NixOS is a declarative Linux: one config, generations you can roll back, nix for packages. People in this community already have a flake. They need a chassis whose firmware, Wi-Fi, and GPU already agree with that generation.
We install current NixOS with the desktop you pick and a config you can read and change. We do not lock you to a shop image. Flakes, home-manager, and whatever else you run after it arrives are yours.
This is still a name-brand notebook. Radios tested. Manufacturer warranty intact. 3–5 day UPS Ground, tracking emailed before it leaves.

How we install it
On the product page, set Linux Distribution to NixOS. GNOME is the usual desktop; KDE Plasma and others are listed. We install current NixOS at configuration time.
If you have a flake or a configuration.nix you want applied before it ships, call 877-547-3638 or put it in the order notes. If we can stand behind the radios on that config, we will.
Same dual-boot add-on: we partition the drive; the BIOS boot menu asks which OS to load.
Pick a laptop on the shop. Set Linux Distribution to NixOS. Desktop defaults to GNOME if you want the usual setup for this distro. A Linux engineer installs, configures, and tests the machine. It ships UPS Ground, typically 3–5 business days, tracking emailed before it leaves.

Do you install current NixOS, or a locked shop image?
Current NixOS at install time, with a config you can read and change. We test the radios on that generation before it ships.
Can you apply my flake before the laptop ships?
Often, yes. Call 877-547-3638 or put a repo URL in the order notes. If we can install it and stand behind Wi-Fi and the GPU, we will.
Will NVIDIA or AMD graphics work on NixOS?
We test the GPU before the laptop ships. If the graphics stack fails, it does not leave.
Do you build these NixOS laptops?
No. We source new Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Asus machines, install NixOS, and test them. You keep the manufacturer hardware warranty.
What desktop does a NixOS laptop ship with?
