What is a Linux laptop from us?

A Linux laptop here is not a white-box chassis with a random ISO. It is a current Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, or Asus notebook. We wipe the recovery partition Windows tax, install the distribution you choose, load the desktop environment you want, and make the hardware behave — Wi-Fi chipsets, NVIDIA or AMD graphics, webcams, Bluetooth, audio, touchscreens, fingerprint readers when the kernel allows.

You keep the manufacturer’s hardware warranty. If a hinge fails in year one, you go to HP or Dell like anyone else. That is a shop for this community: Linux on hardware a local tech can actually service.

Where we sit in this community

We take the laptops people already trust — Lenovo, Dell, HP, Acer, Asus — and we make Linux the factory OS. Name-brand parts. Manufacturer warranty. Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Bazzite, CachyOS, Arch, and the rest of the list. Not a locked vendor image.

When a hinge fails in year two, you are talking to Lenovo or Dell. The machine leaves in 3–5 days, not whenever a custom queue clears.

Buying a Windows laptop and installing Linux yourself still works. It also still fails in the same places: firmware, Wi-Fi, suspend, the webcam, the touchscreen. We take that work. If it does not work, it does not ship.

Distributions we install

Default is Ubuntu LTS with GNOME. On the product page: Fedora, Bazzite, CachyOS, Linux Mint, Debian, Pop!_OS, EndeavourOS, NixOS, Kali, Arch, Omarchy, Manjaro, Zorin, elementary, openSUSE, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, and others. Fedora is Workstation. Bazzite is the desktop image (KDE or GNOME) unless you ask for Steam Gaming Mode. CachyOS is their current ISO on current x86_64 hardware. Not ready to commit 100% to Linux? Dual-boot is an optional add-on on every laptop — we partition the drive and the BIOS boot menu asks which OS to load each time it starts.

How an order works

1. Pick a laptop on the shop.
2. Choose RAM, SSD, Linux distribution, desktop environment, dual-boot if you still need Windows, and a briefcase or mouse if you want them.
3. A Linux engineer installs, configures, and tests the machine.
4. It ships UPS Ground, typically 3–5 business days, ready to open.
