Asus is one of the name-brand chassis lines we keep on the shelf: current Vivobook and other Asus notebooks, sold as new hardware with the Linux distribution you choose already installed and tested. We are not an Asus factory and we do not claim these machines are USA-made. We install Linux in the USA at our shop, ship USA only, and leave the OEM warranty on the laptop so a hinge, keyboard, or battery issue is still an Asus (or authorized service) conversation — the same path everyone else uses.

Ubuntu LTS (shop default) with GNOME is the shop default if you leave the picker alone. Prefer Linux Mint with Cinnamon, Fedora, Kali Linux for labs, Bazzite, CachyOS, or any of the 25+ options on the product page? Select it when you configure. Same radio testing either way.

Why buy an Asus from a Linux shop

Plenty of people already like Vivobook keyboards, 16:10 panels, and the price-to-spec curve Asus hits in the consumer line. The usual catch is Windows tax and a weekend of firmware, Secure Boot, and “will this Wi-Fi chip work?” We take that weekend. A Linux engineer installs the current ISO for the distro you picked, loads the desktop you want, and does not ship until Wi-Fi, GPU, audio, webcam, Bluetooth, and touchscreen pass on that install.

If you were comparing white-box “Linux laptops” to a machine you can walk into a local shop with, this is the difference: name-brand Asus chassis, manufacturer hardware warranty intact, Linux work done here in the USA before UPS Ground picks it up.

What you will find on this brand page

The product cards below are the live Asus configurations we are selling. Stock and SKUs change; trust the cards for model names and pricing — this editorial block does not invent specs or dollar amounts. As of the last content review, the grid centered on Vivobook 15 and Vivobook 16 class machines; if more Asus SKUs appear in WooCommerce, leave the grid alone and let this copy introduce the brand, not the spreadsheet.

Every Asus on this page uses the same configure flow as Dell, Lenovo, HP, and Acer:

  1. Open the product.
  2. Set Linux Distribution (Ubuntu LTS recommended / default; Mint, Kali, and the rest are there).
  3. Set Desktop if the distro offers a choice (GNOME for Ubuntu, Cinnamon for Mint, Xfce for Kali’s own default, etc.).
  4. Optional dual-boot if you still need Windows for one app.
  5. We install, test, and ship USA only — tracking emailed before it leaves.

Distro angle on Asus hardware

Asus buyers land here for the chassis, then ask the same OS questions everyone else asks:

  • Everyday / first Linux machine — Ubuntu LTS or Linux Mint. Mint if you want a start-menu-shaped desktop; Ubuntu if you want the OS most tutorials and campus docs assume.
  • Security coursework / authorized testing — Kali Linux. Prefer Ubuntu or Mint as the daily driver and Kali as a dual-boot if this is your only computer.
  • Gaming-leaning Fedora Atomic — Bazzite is on the product page when you want Steam/Proton oriented setup; we still test the GPU and radios before ship.
  • Arch-shaped speed — CachyOS and friends are available the same way; we install their image and make firmware and Wi-Fi behave on the Asus you ordered.

Brand pages and distro pages are meant to cross-link: this page is “I want Asus.” The Linux Mint with Cinnamon, Ubuntu LTS (shop default), and Kali Linux for labs pages are “I want that OS on whatever chassis fits.” Both paths hit the same configure form.

Who this page is for

  • Buyers who already decided on Asus and need Linux done without DIY
  • People comparing Vivobook-class machines to ThinkPad / Dell / HP on our other brand pages
  • Anyone who wants Linux installed in the USA, USA-only shipping, OEM warranty kept
  • Geeks tired of explaining Secure Boot to relatives — send them this page and the phone number

What we will not say

We will not call these “USA laptops” or “USA-made.” The install and test work happen in the USA. The chassis is Asus OEM. Honesty is the brand: peer geek, clear warranty story, no fake factory.

FAQ

Do your Asus laptops ship with Windows or Linux?

They ship with the Linux distribution you select on the product page. Ubuntu LTS is the default if you do not change it. Windows-only is not the product; optional dual-boot is available if you need Windows alongside Linux.

Is the Asus hardware warranty still valid?

Yes. We source new Asus machines, install Linux in the USA, and leave the manufacturer hardware warranty with the chassis. We do not replace Asus with a house warranty for hinges and keyboards.

Which Linux distros can I put on an Asus from you?

Ubuntu LTS (default), Linux Mint, Kali, Fedora, Bazzite, CachyOS, Debian, Arch, and the rest of the 25+ list on the product page. Same picker as every other brand we sell.

Do you ship Asus Linux laptops outside the USA?

No. We ship USA only from our shop.

How fast do Asus Linux laptops ship?

We install, test, and ship USA only, with tracking emailed before the box leaves.

Will Wi-Fi work on Asus with Linux?

We test Wi-Fi and the other radios on the installed system before the box leaves. If wireless fails on that distro/desktop combo, it does not ship.

Pick an Asus from the product cards on this page (or the full catalog at All Linux laptops), choose your distro, and we handle install and radio testing. Linux installed in the USA. Ships USA only. OEM warranty kept. 877-547-3638.
